The client had recently purchased this apartment on the 5th floor of a 9-storey building, which was built approximately 20 years ago. The scope included a full bathroom renovation in Maroubra, along with a transformation of the entire apartment. The existing kitchen was closed in, but our client wanted to open it up to the living area. This was achieved by removing a load-bearing wall, installing a steel post and beam, and adding a false ceiling to cover the beam and allow for downlight installation. Our clients were getting married in approximately 3 months after we started, and they were hoping to move in before the big day. We successfully transformed their home into a beautifully renovated modern apartment in just 10 weeks, completing the project 3 weeks ahead of schedule and getting the happy couple into their dream home before their wedding.
Project scope:
- Design new bathroom & kitchen layout with 3D drawings.
- Strip out kitchen (taking out wall & supporting with steel post & beam)
- Strip back both bathrooms & laundry moving water service & drainage for new layout.
Take up all flooring finishes. - Install new condenser units & AC unit in living room.
- New joinery for kitchen & laundry & 2 new wardrobes.
- Remodel bathrooms with walk-in showers, floor to ceiling tiling, recessed shaving cabinets.
- New timber floorboards with acoustic lining under in living areas, new carpet in bedrooms.
- Paint entire apartment internally.
- New switchboard, light fittings, switches, GPOs & LED strip lighting for kitchen & bathrooms.
- Crane up stone kitchen benchtop to level 5 to avoid having a joint.
